Seeing the Sun Again

Psalm 3:5 – I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.

It is a great blessing to have a friend who shares in their art-making with you, even if it is not in the same medium. It is even a blessing to have a friend who would share their creations with you, though you cannot return the gift. As an artist (I write, play some piano, and watercolor), I know how fruitful it is to have someone around who is also creating things. I know that if Michael Ende had not grown up with a surrealist-painter-father and other creative persons, his artistry in The Neverending Story (the most exciting and thrilling book I’ve read for some time) would not have been the same. Whether you are an artist (which includes every form of art under the sun), or not (what isn’t art?), remember what a joy it is to be able to partake in your friends’ creations.

One friend of mine, who on the internet goes by zowja, creates music through computer. Like the book I wrote, his music-progress is fairly young. However, it is delightful. Perhaps my favorite of his pieces is “Seeing the Sun Again”:

Psalm 5:3 – O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
